Request a Free Wildfire Risk Assessment
1. Schedule your free home wildfire risk assessment. We use drones, photography, and accurate mapping technology to provide a holistic picture of the project. We use this information to create a custom mitigation plan to best suit your situation. The photos will also be used as "before" images to show your insurance company the mitigation work that was done.
2. Customizing a mitigation plan. Colorado has diverse landscapes and everyone's mitigation needs are just as diverse, that why we create customized plans based on your properties needs. We sit down with every home owner to create a plan that protects your home from wildfires while preserving the rustic beauty of your land. Using the drone and mapping data, our on the ground findings, and your Zone 1 non-combustible substrate preference, we design a functional home hardening plan that's best for you.
3. Mitigation plan implementation. After designing the plan that is right for you, our team comes and does a preliminary walkthrough. In this walkthrough we gather more photographs for insurance documentation, mark trees for removal, and flag any safety hazards for our crew. From there we get to work putting the customized wildfire mitigation plan into action.
4. Insurance ready documentation. After the job is completed you will receive documentation you can provide to your insurance company. This documentation can be used to apply for homeowners insurance discounts per HB25-1182 (if applicable). We will work directly with your insurance agent or company to make sure you are in compliance.
5. Ongoing maintenance and support. Wildfire mitigation is not a do it once, never do it again sort of thing. It requires upkeep and ongoing management. We will provide you with the information to ensure your property stays wildfire ready. If you would rather not do the work yourself we can schedule a yearly maintenance to ensure your property is ready for the fire season.
Answers to your questions about Wildfire Mitigation, Defensible Space, and Home Protection in Colorado
Wildfire mitigation is a set of proactive steps to reduce the risk of wildfire damage to your home. This includes creating defensible space, removing combustible materials, and using fire-resistant landscaping and building features.
Homes with defensible space and fire-resistant features are more than twice as likely to survive a wildfire. Proper mitigation can also reduce insurance premiums by up to 30% in high-risk areas.
Use local wildfire risk maps like the Colorado Forest Atlas or schedule a professional assessment with our firefighter-led team to evaluate your property’s wildfire exposure.
Yes. Colorado offers tax benefits, including state income tax subtractions for out-of-pocket mitigation expenses. Certain landowners may also qualify for tax credits depending on income and work completed.
